Barcelona soccer star taken to hospital after cardiac arrhythmia event; Six weeks after promoting vaccine to 12-year-old

Barcelona striker Sergio Agüero was taken immediately to the hospital to undergo a series of medical tests after suffering chest pain and dizziness during his home debut for Barcelona against Alaves on Saturday. Barcelona was held to 1-1 draw by Alaves at the Camp Nou.

The 33-year-old football star was replaced at half-time after suffering chest discomfort. Medical staff came to assist Aguero and he was treated while he lay flat on the pitch for several minutes after he was seen holding his chest. They’re trying to put him on a stretcher but he was able to walk off the pitch unaided.

He was then transferred to Barcelona Hospital in an ambulance for further tests and it was discovered that he suffered from an undiagnosed cardiac arrhythmia or a heart rate rhythm disorder.

It is not yet confirmed whether Agüero has been vaccinated or not. But according to a report from Football Espana last September, Barcelona has moved quickly to vaccinate its players and staff against COVID-19.

In this video we can see Agüero urging kids to get the Covid vaccine:
